A QUILTER'S NOOK



Classes are 2.5 hours once a week for six weeks and are offered Monday through Thursday 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Lessons run early September to end of June with a break in December. All beginner projects can be completed in six weeks. Registered quilters will receive a project outline including all fabric measurements and a list of supplies needed for the project.

  • Accurate measuring and rotary cutting.
  • Your own sewing machine in excellent working order with users manual.
  • Sewing a scant 1/4 inch seam.
  • All Fabric, thread, rotary cutter, scissors, long pins and large quilting safety pins.
  • Machine piecing and seam matching.
  • Pattern - you may use the resources provided to purchase the pattern.
  • Stitch-in-the-ditch machine quilting or straight line quilting.
  • A 1/4 inch foot and/or walking foot are recommended.
  • Binding the quilt.

    GEMINI QUILT
    gemini1e The Gemini quilt has a modern vibe using bright colors with a neutral. This quilt is fun and easy to make because it uses pre-cut fabric called a "jelly roll". The blocks can be arranged in two different ways for unique look that's all your own. Size; 52" x 59"/132cm x 165cm.

    BENTO BOX QUILT
    bentobox6. A classic that never disappoints. Using 10-16 fat quarters in both light and dark tones makes this an interesting quilt. The pattern works well with Asian prints or modern bright fabrics. Size: 45" x 45"/114cm x 114cm.

    The "Bento Box" pattern by Tracey Brookshire of Brookshire Design Studio can be purchased from quilterswarehouse.com or check your local quilting stores. Alternatively, an "Easy 12-Inch Bento Box" pattern made with a pre-cut "jelly roll" is available for free from thesprucecrafts.com.

    TWISTER QUILT
    twister3c. Stunning pinwheels are a snap to make with the Twister Tool. You will amazed at how fast and easy this quilt comes together. Using pre-cut fabric called "layer cake" adds a lot of variety of pattern and color giving this quilt movement and play.

    The "Twister Tool" can be purchased at most local quilting stores and from twistersistersdesigns.com.

    T-SHIRT QUILT
    t-shirtstock1. Turn your special t-shirts into a memory quilt! A Quilter's Nook will work with you to design and make a one-of-a-kind memory quilt from your t-shirts. Have you been saving special t-shirts such as sports teams, graphic T's of bands, concerts, movies, TV shows, pubs and eateries, or travelling the world? Learn how to transform your keepsake t-shirts into a very cool memory quilt.

    Classes are eight-weeks and limited to a single person to provide extra time to complete the projecet. Includes design for a lap quilt (52" x 78"/132cm x 198 cm) or twin (64" x 86"/163cm x 218cm) and one-on-one instruction.
    It is recommended to have your quilt professionally quilted by a long-arm service.

    Price: $230.00 per quilter.

    COMMISSIONED QUILTING
    commsquilting3. A Quilter's Nook will make the quilt for you. You choose the pattern, colors and size and we do the rest. Contact us to see what we can make for you. Commissioned quilts are availble in three different sizes:

    Baby 36" x 36"/91cm x 91cm
    Lap 52" x 78"/132cm x 198 cm
    Twin 64" x 86"/163cm x 218cm.

    It takes approximately 45-60 hours to complete a twin sized quilt top.
    It is recommended to have your commissioned quilt professionally quilted by a long-arm service.

    Price: $22/hr plus pattern, fabric, thread, batting, backing, binding and supplies.
